THE VOYAGES OF MIRADOR

Jerry King and Arlene Nicholson maintain this site so their families, friends, and anyone else can keep up with their adventures on Mirador, a 1995 Caliber 40 Sailboat.  They sailed from Tacoma Washington to San Diego in the autumn of 2000. In the spring of 2001 they sold their Puget Sound home to cruise full time on Mirador in Western Mexico.   They have now returned to Puget Sound where Mirador is kept at a dock on the Thea Foss waterway in downtown Tacoma.

I am going to start writing stories about Puget Sound sailing and telling stories about Mirador maintenance and all the strange and wonderful problems that keep the life of a boat owner interesting and entertaining.

Contact Information

The following e-mail addresses should have an ampersand (@) in them where we have written (at sign)  There is NO SPACE either before or after the @.  We have been getting a lot of junk mail generated by programs that scan WEB sites looking for @ symbols in the middle of addresses.  We hope that our using the (at sign) convention will stop this problem.

Electronic mail address - jeraldl (at sign) comcast.net

The following E-Mail address will send messages to us on Mirador via our HAM/SSB Radio. These messages must adhere to a very specific format. The connection between the shore based station that is connected to the Internet and our boat radio is VERY SLOW - 1200 baud when it is going full speed. If you wish to send us messages on the HAM or SSB radio link please keep them short and simple.

DO USE:
- only plain text (no HTML or any other HyperText - use your FORMAT/STYLE menu item to specify plain text)
- one page or shorter (AIRMAIL will cutoff any messages longer than about 2000 characters)

DO NOT
-send images/graphics/pictures
-include any original message in a reply

HAM E-mail address: KI9NG (at sign) WINLINK.ORG (this address CAN NOT be used for commercial or business correspondence)

We normally check for messages everyday on our HAM link when we are away from Tacoma on the boat.

DO NOT SEND ANY EMAIL TO OUR HAM ADDRESS UNLESS YOU ARE SURE WE ARE OFF CRUISING

WE DO NOT CHECK OUR HAM EMAIL WHEN WE ARE NOT CRUISING ON MIRADOR!!

Let her know if you are having trouble with this site.
